Lack - Hyeji Woo & Tim Shaw
Lack explores the temporality and transformation of material over time. Using sound and light, this installation incorporates melting ice and snow, analogue projections and sound amplification techniques to create a live, site responsive artwork. The temporality of ice and its metamorphosis into water is visually intensified. The creaking of melting ice, the complex drip of water droplets and the hum of overhead projectors are fed live into three speakers enveloping the projection area. Ice and sound are presented as temporary materials, elements in conversation, both simultaneously changing and in flux.
