The Unfolding of Empty Space - Joshua Legallienne (UK)

The Unfolding of Empty Space is a new installation work by British artist Joshua Legallienne exploring the diffusion of sound in space without the use of loudspeakers, electricity, or human intervention. The piece utilizes many meters of firework fuse attached to a large metal structure. The combustion process offers subtle perceptive differences over time as the sound occupies different spatial positions.

The work is an artistic reaction to the virtuality of the global village; a non-technological artwork that attempts to highlight the power of temporal and spatial perceptivity.

Joshua Legallienne is an artist exploring the sonic qualities of everyday materials, creating high-fidelity sound with low-tech means.
