Slide - Liddy Scheffknecht (AT)

The title Slide can be translated as falling, slipping or gliding. In the art of photography, a slide is the description for a photographic image. The sculpture refers to the photographic principle of detaching moments from time to capturing them permanently. Slide freezes a moment of a fast sleigh ride.

An unmanned sledge seems to have just passed a jump, to remain silent in the air. A moment of great pleasure is extended indefinitely. The persistent weightlessness is both a delightful promise as well as a state of discomfort.

Liddy Scheffknecht explores in different medias the relation between temporality and perception. She lives and works in Vienna.
