Amalgama - Luc Messinezis (GR)

A basic alchemical process involves two different elements mixing and transforming into something new. Following this paradigm, Luc Messinezis with his artwork “Amalgama” utilizes such alchemical processes and fuses two distinct realities in order to produce a new one. By diffusing a typical Mediterranean summer soundscape into the whited-out winter landscape of the Alps, a hyper-reality emerges, which perceptually and emotionally challenges the ambler. 

The artwork fuses two seasons, two places and two cultures by exemplifying an amalgamation of anthropogeographical signification. It recalls and reflects.
