Tetsuya Umeda is a alchemical magician, a kinetic sound artist; water, fire, dry ice, a Bunsen burner, a couple of tins, used household appliances and a room to which he can react, the artist doesn’t need more than that to realize his experimental, again and again surprising installations. “I observe, that’s all“, Umeda says about his work. His performances develop on-site and for the site, he reacts to that which he encounters and he creates wonderful, atmospheric sculptures out of light, sounds and kinetics, making time visible with the help of simple, physical phenomena.
